Experience:
Mr. Pearlson is advising OpenGate and its portfolio companies on the application of new technologies, as well as performing due diligence on investment opportunities. A technology expert with domain experience across several scientific and engineering disciplines, Mr. Pearlson’s work has been used to inform and support enterprise decision making, federal legislation, and has been cited in numerous peer reviewed academic journals. His expertise is in software design and testing, petroleum refining, alternative fuels production, utility scale renewable energy systems, multi-modal transportation optimization, advanced manufacturing and digitization, and additive manufacturing.
Mr. Pearlson holds positions both as a Research Specialist in the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics at MIT, and as a General Engineer at the US DOT Volpe National Transportation Systems Center in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He has been providing expert analysis on technologies to the private equity industry since 2009.
Education:
Mr. Pearlson earned a undergraduate degree with high honors in Chemical Engineering from the College of Engineering at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, and a Master’s degree in Technology and Policy from the Engineering Systems Division at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
