OpenGate Capital Bolsters Executive Leadership Team with Addition of Daniel E. Abrams, Esq.

Daniel Abrams Joins as Senior Vice President and General Counsel

LOS ANGELES, CA – April 7, 2014 – OpenGate Capital, a global private investment firm, announced today that it has strengthened its bench of professionals with the hiring of Daniel Abrams as Senior Vice President and General Counsel. Mr. Abrams becomes the newest member of firm and will be working from OpenGate Capital’s Los Angeles headquarters.

Mr. Abrams will support the firm’s global M&A efforts during the negotiations and diligence processes and he will oversee legal matters for the firm’s portfolio. Additionally, Mr. Abrams will lead all corporate compliance and legal affairs for OpenGate Capital’s global activities.

Prior to OpenGate Capital, Mr. Abrams was Vice President, Fund Counsel with The Gores Group in Los Angeles where he supervised legal affairs for the portfolio of companies, provided legal counsel on fund-related matters, and managed multiple and complex international carve-out transactions. Prior to The Gores Group, Mr. Abrams was an M&A and corporate attorney at Manatt, Phelps, Phillips LP in Los Angeles and DLA Piper US LLP in their Washington, D.C. office. He earned a B.A. degree from Tufts University, and both a JD, Cum Laude, and an MBA, with Beta Gamma Sigma honors, from American University.
