Experience:
Ms. Hazan is based in OpenGate Capital’s New York office and oversees legal matters for the firm and its portfolio of companies. She supports global M&A efforts during the negotiations and diligence processes and oversees legal matters for the firm’s portfolio companies. Additionally, Ms. Hazan leads all corporate compliance and legal affairs for OpenGate Capital’s global investment activities.
Prior to joining OpenGate, Ms. Hazan was a partner at Squire Patton Boggs in the Restructuring Practice Group for 10 years. She previously was a partner at McDermott Will & Emery in the Business Restructuring Group and an associate at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld. Ms. Hazan is a member of the New York and Paris bars.
Education:
Ms. Hazan holds a Master of Business Administration from the MIT Sloan School of Management and a Master of Laws from Columbia University. She began her education in France at the Université Panthéon-Assas where she earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, and a master’s degree in Corporate and Tax Law. She also holds a master’s degree in Anglo-American Corporate Law from the University Panthéon-Sorbonne.
